Our Staff

Our trainers are certified through EXOS, NASM, NASC, CFSC, and Persicion Nutrition, which means they’ve been trained in anatomy, physiology, and nutrition. They understand that no two bodies are alike and will work with you to get fit at the right place.

Founder & Trainer
As the founder and chief operator of Wattage, Aaron’s unique fitness fingerprint is all over the state-of-the-art personal training studio. From the eco-chic amenities to the inspiring space, Aaron carefully crafted every single detail, selected every piece of equipment, and made his vision to form a fitness and wellness destination like no other a reality.
Aaron is truly in a class of his own with over a decade of personal training and injury rehabilitation experience, a former professional rugby player and Strength & Conditioning coach for the Chicago Lions Rugby Football Club. Professional athletes like Chicago Black Hawks (Go Hawks!), Chicago Bears, NBA All Stars (Tracy McGrady & Michael Finley), Paralympic Bronze Medalist Melissa Stockwell, Olympic Bronze Medalist Gracie Gold, dancers in Wicked and other world-famous performers trust Aaron to specially craft a fitness program for them. As if that weren’t enough credentials, Aaron qualified as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also completed the EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance) Performance Specialist Certification (XPS) where he also attended a week-long mentorship program. Aaron hosted and received his certificate of completion as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2, and is certified in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and XPT.
Add to that a sage-like insight into fitness that is in his DNA, Aaron designs fitness programs for his client that focuses on core activation, dynamic warm up, corrective training and progressions with an underlying emphasis on MOVEMENT. The fitness journey with Aaron and Wattage is a journey set with the intention of making you your best self.
Known as a down-to-earth, Aaron embodies the perfect balance of grace and compassion with his clients and staff. He shares his extensive knowledge of fitness by teaching clients and staff in a way that is natural and relaxed. Personal Trainer
Brittany’s dedication to fitness began at a very young age – at age 4 to be exact – when she began practicing gymnastics. She would go on to be a gymnast for almost two decades! Brittany finished her gymnastics career her senior year at Western Michigan University, where she graduated with honors with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. Throughout her 19 years of practicing and coaching gymnastics, she inevitably developed a passion for nutrition and fitness. Learning what it takes to fuel & strengthen the human body to perform & feel its best is what drives Brittany to provide the best service to her clients. Beyond her college education, Brittany is NCEP Certified, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certified, a Pre and Post-Natal Coach by Girls Gone Strong, a Certified Precision Nutrition Coach, a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2.  Whether your goal is to change your body composition or improve your handstands, Brittany has the skill set needed to get you there.

Personal Trainer – Habla Español
Abi has earned certifications through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), along with Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.), moreover, Abi joined Wattage with more than just accreditations. Abi has  received his certificate of completion as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2.  This guy is a testament to real-life experience. Abi took on the high octane, bone-shaking training of NFL players, Division I NCAA and high school athletes across all sports. When Abi discovered Olympic weight lifting in college, where he earned a B.S. in Exercise Science, that set the course for his life passion: perfect the art and discipline of high-performance fitness. The pursuit of perfection coupled with his body of knowledge, enables Abi to tailor the optimum training experience specific to your fitness level and goals.
In nearly half a decade of personal training Abi developed an unquenchable thirst for the science behind high-performance training. One of Abi’s key qualities is an open minded, a positive approach working with people at all ability levels. Abi often shares his passion for strength conditioning by teaching beginners the basics of barbell strength training. Abi invites his clients to share his pursuits by approaching each personal training session “without compromise or comparison,” encouraging them to move safe, strong, and always with intent.
With Abi as your Personal Trainer, you’ll learn how to tap into limitless strength and possibilities.

Personal Trainer
Kyle Wagley grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago where he played many elite level sports growing up and ultimately led him into studying Exercise Science at Western Michigan University. Kyle has been been able to train some of the most elite athletes in the world from NFL rookies to MLB veterans. Over the years he’s worked with many different people from all walks of life and his favorite part about being a trainer is it allows him to help clients accomplish their goals no matter what obstacle may be in their way. Kyle hopes to impact more lives through health and fitness for many years to come. Kyle is a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1.

Personal Trainer
Emily McKean is an ACE-certified personal trainer, Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC). After a couple of years in the International Development field Emily moved to Chicago in 2017 from London and realized her true calling: health and fitness. Practicing what she preaches, Emily’s training philosophy focuses on building overall strength and full-body functionality to achieve effective and long-lasting results.
Emily focuses on creating an environment that inspires individuals of all backgrounds and fitness levels to excel as their strongest selves. Her relatable and laid-back approach to fitness reminds her clients that with passion, dedication and hard work: you can do anything. When she’s not training at Wattage, she teaches high intensity group fitness classes at Shred415.

Massage Therapist
Brianne Mielas has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in an outpatient physical therapy clinic for over 12 years. She completed her Bachelors in Dance from Columbia College Chicago and received her LMT license at Chicago School of Massage Therapy. In addition to working at Wattage, Brianne currently works as a massage therapist for the Chicago Bulls and contracts with professional sports teams and professional dance companies. After traveling intensely with the Chicago Bulls for three seasons she is refocusing on her private practice. She uses her varied experiences and knowledge to offer individualized sessions to meet her clients’ needs.

Maria Candia is a recent graduate of The University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business. With a mom as a personal trainer, Maria grew up in a fitness and gym environment. She started to work at a health club in high school and fell in love with the community aspect. Since then, she has been focusing on her business skills including management and event planning.
