Our trainers are certified through EXOS, NASM, NASC, CFSC, and Persicion Nutrition, which means they’ve been trained in anatomy, physiology, and nutrition. They understand that no two bodies are alike and will work with you to get fit at the right place.
Founder & Trainer
As the founder and chief operator of Wattage, Aaron’s unique fitness fingerprint is all over the state-of-the-art personal training studio. From the eco-chic amenities to the inspiring space, Aaron carefully crafted every single detail, selected every piece of equipment, and made his vision to form a fitness and wellness destination like no other a reality.
Aaron is truly in a class of his own with over a decade of personal training and injury rehabilitation experience, a former professional rugby player and Strength & Conditioning coach for the Chicago Lions Rugby Football Club. Professional athletes like Chicago Black Hawks (Go Hawks!), Chicago Bears, NBA All Stars (Tracy McGrady & Michael Finley), Paralympic Bronze Medalist Melissa Stockwell, Olympic Bronze Medalist Gracie Gold, dancers in Wicked and other world-famous performers trust Aaron to specially craft a fitness program for them. As if that weren’t enough credentials, Aaron qualified as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also completed the EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance) Performance Specialist Certification (XPS) where he also attended a week-long mentorship program. Aaron hosted and received his certificate of completion as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2 and is certified in Functional Movement Systems (FMS).
Add to that a sage-like insight into fitness that is in his DNA, Aaron designs fitness programs for his client that focuses on core activation, dynamic warm up, corrective training and progressions with an underlying emphasis on MOVEMENT. An EXOS Certified Performance Specialist (XPS), Mark comes to Wattage all the way from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Mark’s heart-pumping, sweat-drenched style compels you to strive for your personal best. Focused on multi-directional movement, functional strength improvement and results-driven training that is uniquely designed for each client, Mark will rouse your inner competitor so that you become your better self. Mark is also a Fitness Advisor for Gabrielle Reece and Laird Hamilton’s XPT – The Experience. Complimenting all his other certifications, Mark received his certificate of completion as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2.
Mark’s career as a former professional rugby player and coach coupled with his experience coaching at a high-tech golf facility makes him the ideal personal trainer whether you want to boost your game, finish that mud race, look sensational in your wedding dress, recover from an orthopedic surgery or simply better your overall fitness. Abi has earned certifications through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), along with Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.), moreover, Abi joined Wattage with more than just accreditations. Abi has received his certificate of completion as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2. This guy is a testament to real-life experience. Abi took on the high octane, bone-shaking training of NFL players, Division I NCAA and high school athletes across all sports. When Abi discovered Olympic weight lifting in college, where he earned a B.S. in Exercise Science, that set the course for his life passion: perfect the art and discipline of high-performance fitness. The pursuit of perfection coupled with his body of knowledge, enables Abi to tailor the optimum training experience specific to your fitness level and goals.
In nearly half a decade of personal training Abi developed an unquenchable thirst for the science behind high-performance training. One of Abi’s key qualities is an open minded, a positive approach working with people at all ability levels. Abi often shares his passion for strength conditioning by teaching beginners the basics of barbell strength training. Abi invites his clients to share his pursuits by approaching each personal training session “without compromise or comparison,” encouraging them to move safe, strong, and always with intent.

Sports Performance Specialist
Jeff Flagg (Sports Performance Specialist) is a strength coach and athlete that has competed at the highest level in multiple sports and has an ongoing passion to help others achieve their highest levels of performance on and off the playing field.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Jeff attended Mississippi State University on a baseball scholarship, culminating with a trip to the College World Series in 2007. He was drafted in 2008 by the New York Mets, and played in their system for 3 years and was an All Star at 2 different levels. He was also voted the 2009 Sterling Award winner (NYM Organizational Player of the Year). He finished his playing career with the Traverse City Beach Bums (2 seasons), earning another All Star appearance in 2012 and being named to the organization’s All Decade team.
When it came time to hang up the spikes in 2012, Jeff returned to Mississippi State to complete his degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology, then began to his career in the fitness industry with an innovative startup company based in Birmingham, AL called PurMotion. He also began his journey into the sport of Long Drive. He reached the Final 32 in 2013, his first year of competition, but the goal was to reach the top. Another year of hard work in the gym and on the golf swing resulted in winning the title of Long Drive World Champion in 2014, live in primetime on the Golf Channel.
Jeff has been featured on the Golf Channel and Golf Digest (along with various other podcasts and articles) discussing his keys to hitting the ball longer AND straighter. He believes that his fitness and athleticism are a large part of his success, and this is the same approach and philosophy he takes with each and every one of his clients. “You become a better golfer by becoming a better athlete.” As the former Director of Education for PurMotion, along with his extensive athletic background, allows him to achieve consistent, efficient, sustained results with the clients that he works with.
Cara is a personal trainer certified with EXOS Performance Specialist (XPS) and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) whose main focus is on up tempo workouts and body sculpting. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Sports Studies with a concentration in Exercise Science.
As a former strength coach at Corefitness Chicago in Lincoln Park and intern in cardiac rehab at Resurrection Medical Center, Cara’s passion to help clients feel their best is what drives her every day. She is also an instructor at Shred415 where she teaches intense treadmill and strength circuit classes.
Brittany’s dedication to fitness began at a very young age – at age 4 to be exact – when she began practicing gymnastics. She would go on to be a gymnast for almost two decades! Brittany finished her gymnastics career her senior year at Western Michigan University, where she graduated with honors with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. Throughout her 19 years of practicing and coaching gymnastics, she inevitably developed a passion for nutrition and fitness. Learning what it takes to fuel & strengthen the human body to perform & feel its best is what drives Brittany to provide the best service to her clients. Beyond her college education, Brittany is NCEP Certified, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certified, a Pre and Post-Natal Coach by Girls Gone Strong, a Certified Precision Nutrition Coach, a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) in Level 1 & 2. Whether your goal is to change your body composition or improve your handstands, Brittany has the skill set needed to get you there.
