Physical Therapist

Wattage is looking for a motivated Doctor of Physical Therapy to work in an elite boutique fitness studio in Fulton Market. This is a cash-based model (no insurance billing), allowing you the freedom to deliver patient-centered care without constraints! The ideal candidate is extremely professional, reliable and passionate about health and wellness. You will work directly under our Director of Physical Therapy while also collaborating with our staff of personal trainers!

Applicant Requirements:
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
Active state licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
3+ years of clinical experience preferred, ideally with exposure to orthopedics, sports medicine, or performance-based care.
Strong manual therapy and exercise prescription skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect and build trust with clients.
Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for working in a boutique, cash-based environment.

Job Requirements:
Provide one-on-one physical therapy evaluations and treatments with a strong emphasis on movement quality, strength, and performance.
Develop individualized treatment plans focused on injury recovery, prevention, and long-term health.
Collaborate with personal trainers and coaches to ensure continuity of care and seamless client experience.
Educate clients on lifestyle, mobility, and strength strategies that support their goals.
Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes via Jane.
Contribute to the growth of the practice by building strong relationships within the gym and broader community.
30-40 hours/week - The first few months the physical therapist will be taking on our current DPT's client load while she's on maternity leave. When she returns therapist will transition into their own schedule.
Assist with basic maintenance of the facility.
Participate in our weekly social media posts.
Write a weekly physical therapy related blog for our website.

Personal Training Internship - NOT HIRING
Job description
Wattage is looking for a motivated intern to work in our elite boutique fitness studio in Chicago’s Fulton Market District. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and ready to take on the initiative of learning about the Personal Training industry. This internship will be a mix of hands-on, experiential, and traditional learning opportunities geared towards building a strong foundation of practical and technical personal training skills as well as sound business principles and practices. Applicants must be local to Chicago and share our team’s passion for health, fitness, and human performance.

Wattage Summer Internship:
During your internship at Wattage, you will be tasked with completing our internship curriculum during your term with us. Responsibilities will include: assisting trainers with their client sessions, assisting the facility manager with maintaining an organized training floor and completing assignments in a timely manner. You must provide your own transportation and be on time for every shift. You will be expected to greet clients by name and provide excellent customer service to our client base. Participating in one of our group/semi-private sessions per week is mandatory for all interns (except for those with extenuating circumstances). Bringing a notepad (laptop/tablet is fine as well) to every shift is a must. You will be expected to take notes and provide a weekly summary of what you’ve learned. Depending on what time your shift will be; you will also be expected to learn opening/closing procedures. This internship is ideal for those seeking a career in personal training or strength & conditioning. By experiencing what it’s like to work with clients in a private and semi-private setting, interns will gain valuable experience in client relations, interviews, assessments, gym operation and program design. In addition to day-to-day tasks, assignments given to interns are designed to help them develop critical thinking skills in real-world situations.
Applicant requirements:
Enrolled in Kinesiology program or equivalent Bachelor’s degree
Athletic background is preferable
Flexible schedule
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Reliable transportation
Ability to follow directions
Job Requirements:
15-20 hours/week (also dependent on degree program requirements)
Attend staff meetings
Shadow staff members during training/treatment of clients and patients
Assist with maintenance of the facility
Complete weekly curriculum reading/assignments

Full-Time Personal Trainer - NOT HIRING

Wattage is looking for a motivated personal trainer to work in an elite boutique fitness studio in Fulton Market. The applicant must be in Chicago and passionate about health and fitness. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and ready to take on the initiative of building a solid client base. The position involves training clients for one-on-one, small group, and semi-private sessions while educating and demonstrating exercises to ensure safety and proper form, as well as, providing a top-notch experience for all clients.
